So you want to join ACKspace in the quest to become the most awesome hackerspace in the south of the Netherlands ?!

Thats totally excellent ! (pliwiwiiii)   http://www.billandted.org/sounds/ea/eaexcellent.mp3

This is what you need to know :

ACKspace members are not members but participants, this is due the legal form we have. We are a foundation and some legal mumbo jumbo decides this.

You also don't pay for membership but a participants fee of 20 EUR each month. This money will be used for renting the place, improving the space and get goods for projects/events and the likes.

All members have equal access / rights to visit the space and do stuff, even the board. There will be frequental meetings (2-3 months) to review the progress of the space, get input from the paticipants

about the (upcoming) projects and to see if we need to change something to make the space a better place (also known as board ranting...).

The place to get informed about the space is on IRC (freenode #ackspace) and/or the mailinglist. At least make sure you are on that mailinglist for any announcement will be made there.

Also start editting stuff on the wiki, create a page for yourself and add projects ideas etc. etc.

There are 3 documents we would like you to have read and accepted. Two of these needs personal info and a signature from both yourself and one of the board members.

These documents can be found on the wiki here : https://ackspace.nl/wiki/Doc_Page  ; House rules, Registration form and Disclaimer form.

Yes all the info is in dutch and yes I know this wiki entry and more are in English. If there is any need for an English version we either translate the thing (( prolly babblefish it first )) or you can try an

basis language course dutch.

Any futher questions/info/whatever can be asked using the methods described here : https://ackspace.nl/wiki/Hackerspace_ACKspace:Communication
